I don't drink to any extent anymore, I'm too old and the effects are not fun. I do keep a bottle of nice scotch as people do come by sometimes, and I'll pay the price if its a social event. ;)

That is wonderful. I think that you are supposed to report any earnings on precious metals to the CRA and they will deduct that amount dollar for dollar from your G.A.I.N. the next year.
Silver and Gold have gone nowhere in decades. Inherited money that you think I lived off, not so, you spend inherited money, I always invest any money I inherit and I have lived off of some of the earnings. Unfortunately there was usually someone demanding money and there still is a large demand for money by the government, yearly taxes and capital gains tax.
ReplyDeleteI 100% paid my own way entirely til I personally zeroed out at 70 except for real estate. I had paid a huge amount of money out for 20 years compared to what I got to spend on myself from 1980 to 2000 which was not my plan. I borrowed back equity in 2016 to set up my $4OCK legal strike fund but I had to invest it in development land so that I could alleviate the damage done by Betty or Trixie to Vince.
Anne alleged that you were obviously acting out as a bad drunk for about 20 years. That was in the past thaT YOU WERE "ADDLED" by alcohol and acted out as an obnoxious pest.

DeleteI thought silver had been worth up to $27 and gold $2200 per ounce 20 years ago and until recently I had not seen the new prices; I reverted to a larval form and I was in that link I published which no longer works, possibly as I have metamorphosed out of my larval existence. ReplyDeleteGold is up. I bought at about $1260 and its $1930 today. Silver is up I bought at about $15 bucks and its $25 and change. That's quite a profit actually.
You are supposed to report earnings off of gold and silver to the CRA if you do not earn less than the personal deduction but your Canada Pension, OAS and G.A.I.N. use that already. These days you might have to report regardless, in particular if you are on G.A.I.N.you have to report any earnings. Disability is a better benefit than old age benefits which is not right.

So an update on my condition. I was literally crippled in Sept of last year and could barely walk at all. There was a lot of pain and it was difficult to go to the store or do any normal activity.
ReplyDeleteNow after a rather long time I am almost back. I got to a place with stretching and manipulation and then was able to lift some light weights. My squats and dead-lifts have brought me back to the extent I can walk normally for quite a while and I have made it to the bottom of my beloved mountain trails. Soon I will be able to back to my walks in the mountains. My favourite activity.
